It seems that in org.apache.jdo.tck.lifecycle.NontransactionalWriteTest line 156 (after setOptimistic) a statement is missing:

pmConflict.currentTransaction().begin();

I merged the change from the trunk into branch 2.0.1 (see revision 452982).
