 Description  « Hide
The development lifecycle of any project should involve releases of the deliverable software at particular stages. In the case of Apache JDO this means the API 2.0 and the TCK 2.0. The Apache JDO project requires feedback on its development and how complete the API and TCK are. With this in mind it is essential that there are (dated) snapshot releases made available at intervals so that people have something to base comments against, and to develop against. Without such snapshots related projects (JDO implementations, JDO2 reference implementation) will have to make their own snapshots and release these to their users as necessary.

This was originally requested back in April 2005.

I agree that we should provide snapshots of the API sub-projects api11 and api20. These snapshots are useful to other projects (such as JPOX and potentially Geronimo) that integrate JDO.

I'll take this action item to resolve.

But I'm not as certain of the TCK as being ready to release. I think it needs a bit more discussion whether a user of the TCK can be successful without actually accessing the svn repository.

The snapshot as of the end of January was released. The next release should be the final one.
