Description
It would be nice if the shell reported the progress of a long running to ensure it is making progress. Marcel suggested an idea to implement this by displaying status info from the worker nodes. Since they periodically send back reports the coordinator we could display those (in a condensed version). This would show information such as the number of rows scanned/MBs read/etc. This could be enabled in "verbose" mode in the impala shell and would be useful for debugging.
To accomplish this we could add a new Beeswax/HS2 API called get_detail_state that returns an opaque struct.
