A major Chinese translation work is in progress at HADOOP-4164.

HADOOP-4164 contains the main forrest doc. Items like javadoc, wiki, etc., are missing. See http://people.apache.org/~szetszwo/4164_20081203/ for the current patch in HADOOP-4164.

oh, i went through HADOOP-4164. great work.
Currently we have about ten students translating a list of documents. we will post the translated docs onto the www.hadooper.cn website. If possible we would like to post these docs onto hadoop.apache.org.

btw: www.hadooper.cn is a non-profit website hosted by Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Acedemy of Science.

No single page of Hadoop twiki page has ever been reviewed. Do we really need to review the Chinese translation of the Hadoop twiki pages? Can we simply have a link to the Chinese translation or put the translation to the Hadoop official site?

I just got a chance to talk to Owen. He also feels very comfortable to put the Chinese translation to the Hadoop official site without review. Tian, Could you please go ahead and do it? You could put a link to the Chinese translation in the English version and vice versa. It is also a good idea to make sure the Chinese terminologies that are used in the twiki are consistent with the ones used in Chinese forrest docs as in HADOOP-4164. Thank you very much for your contribution.
