    Description

      A small enhancement was made as part of DRILL-3876 to remove an unnecessary copy in a simple flatten case. This was easy to implement, but did not cover all of the possible cases where the rewrite rule is currently planning inefficient operations. This issue is tracking the more complete fix to handle all of the more complex cases optimally.
