Can anybody comment on status of XA Support for the network server?

I've seen the thread beginning with http://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/ReadMsg?listName=derby-dev@db.apache.org&msgNo=823 on derby-dev, and also that the ToDo list indicates that this issue is in progress, but haven't been able to find any more information. Is there any kind of a timeline, even if very tentative?

XA Functionality was checked into the server with svn r123827 and adds XA MGR Level 7 support. With the contribution of Network Client, XA functionality can be utilized through the client XA Datasource
