I am one of the developers in GIMP-help-2 (http://www.gimp.org/docs/) project.
Recently we plan to convert XML files to PDF, I just try fop. Unfortunately it
have not worked for Chinese docs. It complained of hundreds of "No spaces to
justify text in line", and ended with "Exception in thread "main"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space".

Have a look at the FAQ entry regarding memory problems. In your case, I
suspect embedding the font contributes significantly to the problem.
